Cookie Monster Revenge

food, cookies, milk

Everyone is on some kind of diet these days. If it’s not to lose weight then it’s probably due to some type of food allergy or sensitivity, or maybe just to feel a little healthier. Everyone wants better health and more energy.

But sometimes all these food restrictions can get to you, it’s no fun. Grandma wants to give the grandkids cookies when they come to visit but Mom doesn’t want them to overload on sugar and carbs. What’s a mother to do?

Every now and then we all want a little sweet fun, without the guilt and negative reactions. So, unless you are allergic to maple syrup or chocolate chips (there are gluten free varieties) this recipe might satisfy your sweet tooth while adding some protein and fiber to your diet.

GUILT-FREE/Gluten Free CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:

Health, Wellness and Spirituality

Everything is related, interconnected, not separate. Did you know that every cell in your body has it’s own brain? The brain of each cell is in constant communication with the big brain upstairs. When you experience happiness your body is flooded with endorphins and other chemicals from the central brain through the nervous system to all the little cell brains, which causes each cell to be healthy and happy. This is why we can see happiness, sadness, and other emotions in the physical appearance of a person.

One person can do all the right things in terms of physical health (diet, exercise, etc.) but still become sick mentally, emotionally or physically. Another person can live a long time without extreme illness while not following any particular dietary or exercise plan. Some people have healed themselves of end stage cancer through meditation and healthy lifestyle changes, while others who try to follow the recommended changes don’t succeed. What causes this disparity?

It’s simple but it’s not

Because everything is interconnected we can’t just say it’s all in the mind or the body, it’s both but on a deeper level than we realize. The science of epigenetics is showing us that the lifestyle choices of one generation influences the genes of the next 3 generations. However, just because your genes make you prone to illnesses or thought patterns this is not 3 generationsan absolute prediction that you will have these problems. Each individual in every generation has the ability to override their genetic predisposition through the lifestyle choices they make.

For a person to make lifestyle changes it requires a change in thought processes and patterns. Aaha! This is where it gets complicated. It’s not just about ‘I should do this or that…’. Sometimes with a little education we can make the changes that are necessary, but often the problems reside in the subconscious which is much harder to get at. This is why spirituality, prayer, meditation, and relationships are important to our physical, mental and emotional health.

Where it all comes back to

In the end, it all comes back to love. Do you know and feel how deeply you are loved by God? On a deep subconscious level most human beings struggle with this point, after all, the problem has been handed down for thousands of generations. But once again, through true love, even in one generation we can begin to change these patterns.

Cookies are an expression of love. Eating in a healthy way, exercising, meditating and praying can all be expressions of love if we choose so. An expression of true love results in joy, which is the purpose of life anyway.

Love those cookies! (but don’t overdo it)
