FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH YOU

fear not

“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” – H. P. Lovecraft

“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.” – Plato

“Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.” – Dorothy Thompson

“What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it, learn about it, come directly into contact with it. We are to learn about fear, not how to escape from it.” – Jiddu Krishnamurti

“We are afraid of the enormity of the possible.” – Emile M. Cioran

Beyond Fear We Can Find the True Self

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

“You are only afraid if you are not in harmony with yourself. People are afraid because they have never owned up to themselves.” – Hermann Hesse

“Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here.” – Marianne Williamson

“Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

“I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.” – Louisa May Alcott

God has always asked for trust and given courage

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand…”For I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.'” – Isaiah 41:10, 41:13

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

Learning to live fearlessly is part of life’s quest. Life requires faith and trust in something beyond our own strength and power. Just as an infant learns to trust their parent because of the parent’s love, we too must learn to trust in God as we experience His love through scripture, prayer and the evidence of spirit and abundance in the universe.

In love we become vulnerable, therefore it requires courage, faith and trust to fully experience love. In this relationship of unconditional love we find the freedom to be who we really are and to fulfill our potential. Life is not complete without the experience of true love. We can do many things, but the greatest thing we will ever do is to live fearlessly in love.
