The New Spiritual Path
As I was looking for quotes this week I decided to focus on love and family since our theme this month has been love. I usually look first at quotes from famous religious leaders, or the founders of the most prominent world religions. The interesting thing is that most religious leaders of the past spoke most about the path of individual enlightenment or individual salvation, and it’s not easy to find quotes about the value of the family from ancient history.
The cornerstone of the teachings of Sun Myung Moon is that the separation between God and humans began in the family through the misuse of love, and therefor must finally be resolved, or restored, in the family. When the family has the true love of God as it’s center there is no need for religion because the people and their relationships will be an expression of God’s heart. This is the new spiritual path humanity is walking, the path of restoring relationships beginning within the family.
