Altruistic Love at it’s Best

There’s nothing like having 7 aspiring young adults around to give a you a fresh injection of altruistic thinking. While so many people today are focused on making more money, getting a better education or advancing themselves in some other external way, it’s good to know that some young people are beginning their adult life by focusing on growing their hearts.

The goal to live to one’s fullest potential begins with the experience of one’s own value as a divine child of God, and then developing the ability to see God in one another. After that, everything we do in our lives can be an expression of divine love.

Goals from the Heart

I asked the GPA Manchester Team for their permission to share some excerpts from their internal goals so our readers can also be inspired by their noble quest for altruistic love and to be the best they can be.altruistic love

Lead with my heart – I want to be more relatable to people, as well as to be better able to receive and return love as a natural impulse. The key to this goal is to do things that inspire my creativity and put myself out there in new ways, even sometimes uncomfortable ways.”  – MS

Be vulnerable – I want to go beyond my fears and be willing to invest and contribute unconditionally into people, the community, be open to challenges and failures, trusting in God, by doing things I’m not 100% sure I’m capable of (with love).” – NS

Have a public mind – Having a public mind is always having a higher purpose beyond myself, but my goal is to be “me” wherever I go because that’s the best way I can give love and use what God has given me for a higher purpose.” – GB

Be the light – To put God’s love and grace behind everything I do. I want to accept and love myself the way God does so that I can better accept and love others. In that way I want to contribute, and also take away from my 30 days here how I can be part of creating a new culture that embraces all of God’s children.” – TY

Love first – First I want to be the one to give love first to those around me. Second, I want to practice having an attitude of love in whatever I do instead of just doing it out of obligation, because from my experience I know my actions have more joy and meaning when I do them out of love.” – JR
